Villa Montessori Stone Ridge is OPEN and Offering Five-Day, In-Person Care and Instruction.

Children Ages 12 Months to 12 Years Can Enroll Now for Fall Classes and Supervised Study Groups

Villa Montessori – a Montessori preschool that instructs children ages 12 months to 12 years using the educational methods pioneered by educational reformer, Dr. Maria Montessori – is open for business and servicing families from the Stone Ridge/Chantilly/Aldie/South Riding sections of Loudoun County, Virginia. Currently, our school is operating with mandated reduced class sizes and is actively enrolling children at all age levels.

Cleanliness and safety are our #1 priorities. Even before the COVID-19, our school engaged in an aggressive daily cleaning policy, using hospital-grade disinfectant that is proven to kill the Coronavirus. Masks are currently optional for our students but are required for all parents, teachers and administrators – and temperature checks are required of any person entering our building.

According to our owner, Tim Copp, Villa Montessori offers a “quality Montessori education at the same price as daycare,” and re-opened to the public June 1. Our school is open from 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and offers preschool programs for children ages 12 months to 6 years and a full-day, fully-accredited Kindergarten.

In normal times, we would also offer “after-care” services for children in grades 1-6 with transportation from four Loudoun County elementary schools. However, since all Loudoun County Public School instruction will likely be online this fall, our school will instead offer a full-day study program for these children – offering technology and homework assistance in a safe, supervised environment, five days per week. Called the “Young Leaders” program, children will simply bring their own laptop or tablet, as well as their own lunches each school day, and a Villa Montessori teacher will oversee their LCPS distance learning and trouble-shoot any technical problems that may arise. Beginning August 31, we will offer these children a safely supervised, socially-distanced classroom that will support a maximum of 18 students and one or more teachers.

Should the pandemic cause schools to shutter again, Villa Montessori has the technology available to pivot quickly to 100 percent online instruction for our preschool-aged students. We already demonstrated these abilities successfully in the spring, when we offered engaging daily Zoom classes to our preschoolers from 9AM – 4 PM each school day.

With space available for students at all age levels, Villa Montessori Stone Ridge offers open enrollment and is currently enrolling for fall. Currently, our school is operating at approximately 50 percent capacity with room capacity varying by age. Additionally, our school was completely refurbished from top to bottom one year ago. From new teachers and administrative staff, to new materials and infrastructure – Villa Montessori offers a nurturing, engaging and safe Montessori environment, where all children can thrive.
